Artwork Submission

We support files created in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. We also accept PDF and EPS files. Our preferred file format is .ai, .pdf or .eps files.

For best print quality, please save all images at 300 dpi or better but anything over 800 dpi is usually overkill. Also be sure to convert your images to CMYK. If your images are not embedded into your art files, please be sure to send a copy of those with your original file.

Sending files with their fonts already outlined gets rid of the need for us to have the font you used installed on our system. For example, if you use a really unique, off-the-wall font you found online, chances are we will not have that font installed on our workstations. When we open that file your font will be missing and will be replaced with a generic font. We recommend saving a separate version of your art file with fonts outlined to send to us to use for printing. If you would rather not save a version of your file with the fonts outlined, please be sure to send a copy of the font you used so that we can open your file correctly.

Yes, we do proof read your labels to the best of our ability and will alert you if we find any typos, out of place items or anything that just doesn’t add up. We make every effort to ensure your label is correct. Please be aware, however, that we cannot be responsible for errors on your label after you approve the final proof that we send you. Our advice is to proof read then proof read again THEN have a second set of eyes check it one more time.

There are two options for printing spot colors on our digital presses. One, we can simulate these spot colors using our CMYK inks (this is the most cost effective method though not all PANTONE colors can be closely simulated using 4-color process). Two, we can order special inks that are matched as closely as possible to PANTONE colors (additional costs apply and not all colors are available). When designing, go ahead and call-out the PANTONE spot colors in your art files as our color management software uses these call-outs to simulate the closest match possible using CMYK inks. Please be aware when designing your label that bright colors and fluorescents will not output like the swatches in the PANTONE book. Digital presses also cannot print metallic inks, only simulations of them.

Bleed is the 1/8 inch of extra color and/or image added around where your label will be die cut. This is to ensure that when the label is being die cut there is no white space left on your label. Our machines are pretty precise but they can move up to a 1/32 inch in any direction. Adding that extra bleed to your artwork will make up for those slight shifts. Please contact us if you have any questions about adding bleed and we’ll be happy to help.

When you create your artwork, please keep all important text, design elements and images at least 1/16 inch away from your die cut edges on all sides. This is to ensure that when the label is being die cut no important information is cut off. Our machines are pretty precise but they can move up to a 1/32 inch in any direction. Adding that extra padding to your artwork will make up for those slight shifts. Please contact us if you have any questions about the padding on your artwork and we’ll be happy to help.

Yes! If your product has a barcode number, we can create the barcode for your label. Please keep in mind while designing your label that adequate space is needed to insert a barcode and have it read properly. Keep at least 1/8 inch of additional free white space (quiet zone) around where your barcode will be inserted.

Yes, in most cases we will be able to match or get a close match to a custom color that you have. We will ask that you send a printed sample of the color you need us to match. We will assess the color sample and let you know how close we think we will be able to get using either our flexo presses or our digital presses. If your label will be produced digitally, please be aware that bright colors and fluorescents will not output like the swatches in the PANTONE book. Digital presses also cannot print metallic inks, only simulations of them.

Our flexo presses are capable of printing with metallic inks. Our digital presses, however, do not have the capabilities to print with metallic inks. We can only do simulations of them using our CMYK inks. If you want a metallic or foil look from a digitally printed label, we can print using a metallic substrate to simulate the metallic look. For examples of this, please request one of our SAMPLE PACKS. We can do some pretty amazing things on metallic substrate.
